Winter in MontclairArtist Dick LaBonte lived in Montclair for more than 20 years before moving to Bay Head and taking up painting seriously. He commuted to NYC and worked as Promotion Manager for McGraw Hill Publishing. He joined the other fathers taking the train to Bay Head on weekends in the summer. This winter scene in Montclair is of its well known Edgemont Park, where ice skating was a family activity. The artist grew up in the Midwest and probably did ice skate there, but it was his children who spent time on the ice in Montclair (or in the "warming hut" drinking hot chocolate). That's Edgemont Elementary School by the lake and the WWI war memorial on the island. Image size: 15x19. Offset lithograph. Limited edition of 400. Unsigned. $125 |
