The Bath Houses

There was a time when bath houses were a necessity. No self-respecting woman would walk about town in her bathing costume. She changed in a bath house at the beach. Also, there was a fresh water pump where a girl could rinse the salt out of her hair, and a public mirror for pinning it back up. The houses in the background are still there (south of Bridge Avenue, Bay Head).
