Sunday Morning 1908All Saints' Episcopal Church in Bay Head was one of artist Dick LaBonte's favorite subjects. Built in 1889, the church expanded over the years to become an architectural delight. The original meeting house (See "All Saints 1889" by the artist) can still be seen where the entrance faces north, near the belfy, which was added in 1905, three years before this scene. The trolley ran along Lake Avenue north to Clark's Landing in Pt. Pleasant. Hanging from the trolley is the Murphy Kid, LaBonte's signature mascot, who was really a red-head, but in this first painting where he appeared, he was a blonde. Image size: 9x15. Offset lithograph.
