Spring Lake, 1892The original painting by Dick LaBonté was commissioned for the Spring Lake Centennial in 1992. The Hewitt-Wellington Hotel, left, is still there, and the Post Office is now a residence elsewhere in town. The artist wasn’t certain that people really flew in hot-air balloons so near to the ocean in 1892, but he added them into the scene for color anyway. Image size: 14x21. Giclee print. Limited edition of 400. Unsigned. $125 |
