My Mother, My Sister and Me

This is from a photograph of the artist with his mother and sister, taken as they sat on the beach of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan, the artist grew up in the Midwest and spent many summers by the Great Lake. Once he moved his family to Montclair, New Jersey, the family would summer in Bay Head.
