Go, Squan, Go!When the school librarian received a Teacher of the Year stipend from Manasquan High School, she asked Mr. LaBonte if he would do a painting of the school for her. She then gifted it back to the school. It was a challenge with all those windows but he did it! He painted the school the way it looked brand new in the early 1930's, drawing on memories he had of his own high school in those days (see New Trier High School Class of '39 painting). He also revived "Leapin' Lena, the flivver in the comic strip "Harold Teen." Sorry, Dad, I had to look up "flivver" and found out it was a nickname for the Ford Model T. And there it is!
