Full Fathom Five

This is the last in a series of mermaid paintings by the artist. He decided to try an underwater scene, showing all the activity that goes on that most of the swimmers don't see. As usual, there are some shenanegans going on! He titled the painting after a famous Shakespearean quote from The Tempest.

Full fathom five thy father lies;
Of his bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes:
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange.
Sea-nymphs hourly ring his knell:
Ding-dong.
Hark! now I hear them - ding-dong, bell.
(from "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare)
