Catching the Trolley

This Point Pleasant Beach, NJ landmark building still stands. Although it has changed names. The artist became preoccupied with the beautiful detail in the old hardware store itself when he painted this. The woman flagging the trolley is probably taking her little girl to the end of the line, Clark's Landing, for a ride on the merry-go-round. The trolley line ran only in the summers, but it owned a snowplow -- used to push the sand off the tracks after nor'easters. See the dog eyeing the weiners in the window of the meat market?! And Murphy is trying to reach the seagull on the electric pole!
